What we do to keep the site accessible

  • Text contrast of at least 4.5:1.
  • Full keyboard navigation: every function reachable via Tab/Enter/Space.
  • Visible focus: 2 px navy outline on every interactive element.
  • Skip to content: visible after first Tab press.
  • Semantic HTML: H1-H6 hierarchy, nav, main, aside, footer landmarks.
  • ARIA labels: aria-label on icons, aria-current on active navigation, aria-live on dynamic panels.
  • Image alt text: every informational image has a description; decorative images use aria-hidden="true".
  • Reduced motion: prefers-reduced-motion disables animations for users who request it.
  • Responsive: works from 320 px up to 4K screens.
  • Scalable text: up to 200% zoom without loss of functionality.
  • Screen readers: tested with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver.

Inaccessible elements

All key functions are accessible. Some visual elements (city coats of arms) are currently rendered as letter placeholders — full crests with alt text will land in a later iteration.
