A civil marriage in Miłakowo begins with the submission of a declaration of no impediments to marriage. This document is submitted in person at the Civil Status Office in Miłakowo. After its submission, a statutory waiting period of at least 1 month applies, during which the Civil Status Office verifies the absence of legal impediments.

Each party must possess a valid identity document. For Polish citizens, an identity card or passport is sufficient.
