A civil wedding in Wilków begins with submitting a declaration of absence of obstacles to marriage at the Civil Registry Office in Wilków. Both partners must personally appear at the office to confirm their intention to marry.

The statutory waiting period is a minimum of one month from the date of submitting the declaration. During this period, the office verifies the absence of legal obstacles to marriage. After this period expires, it is possible to set the ceremony date.

Polish citizens should bring a valid ID card or passport. The Civil Registry Office in Wilków obtains birth certificate copies directly from the civil registry, so there is usually no need to provide them. Foreigners must present an identity document, a birth certificate copy, a certificate of legal capacity to marry (or a court order when obtaining a certificate is impossible), and certified translations of documents.
