A civil marriage in Wilczyn begins with contact with the Civil Registry Office. The couple should schedule an initial consultation, during which office staff explain the requirements and reserve the ceremony date.

Before entering into marriage, it is necessary to submit a declaration of no impediments to entering into marriage. From that moment, a statutory waiting period of minimum one month applies. This period allows for information verification and final preparations.

Documents required from a Polish citizen are a valid identity card or passport. Certified copies of birth certificates are obtained by the Civil Registry Office in Wilczyn independently from the civil registry, so there is no need to provide them. The situation is different for foreigners, who must present:

• certificate of legal capacity to enter into marriage (or court order if obtaining one is impossible)
