A civil marriage in Tarnówka begins with filing a declaration of no impediments to marriage at the Civil Registry Office. Both partners must appear in person and present the required documents.

Polish citizens provide a valid identity card or passport. Office staff obtain copies of birth certificates directly from the civil registry, so there is no need to provide them independently. Foreigners must submit an identity document, a copy of their birth certificate, a certificate of legal capacity to marry issued by a court or appropriate authorities of their country of origin, and all foreign-language documents require certified translations.
