The procedure for concluding a marriage in Sosnowiec begins with filing a declaration of no impediments to marriage at the Civil Registry Office. This document should contain the data of both persons who wish to marry, as well as information about their marital status. After its submission, a statutory waiting period of at least one month applies.

Before the ceremony, each of the engaged persons must possess a valid identity document, which is a personal ID or passport. Persons born abroad or foreigners should additionally prepare a copy of the birth certificate, a certificate of legal capacity to conclude marriage, and certified translations of required documents.
