The procedure for concluding a civil wedding in Sławno begins with filing a declaration of no impediments to marriage. Both fiancés must personally appear at the Civil Registry Office in Sławno with the required documents.

For Polish citizens, a valid identity card or passport is necessary. Officials obtain copies of birth certificates directly from the civil registry, so you do not need to provide them yourself. Foreigners must prepare additional documents: an identity document, a copy of their birth certificate, a certificate of legal capacity to marry (or a court order in case it cannot be obtained) and certified translations of all foreign language documents.

After filing the declaration, there is a statutory waiting period of at least 1 month. During this period, you can book the ceremony date. The court fee for preparing the marriage certificate is 84 zł and is paid when submitting the application.

The ceremony requires the presence of two adult witnesses, who can be Polish citizens or foreigners. Couples have the option to choose between a wedding at the Civil Registry Office in Sławno or a ceremony at another location. An outdoor wedding or one outside the office headquarters involves an additional fee of 1000 zł and a requirement to ensure safety and dignified conditions for the ceremony.
