A civil marriage in Ruda-Huta begins with scheduling the ceremony date. The couple should report to the Civil Registry Office in Ruda-Huta to choose a convenient day and reserve a place for the ceremony.

Before entering into marriage, both fiancés must submit a declaration of the absence of legal obstacles to entering into marriage. From this point on, a statutory waiting period of a minimum of 1 month applies. This period allows for final verification of conditions and prevents hasty decisions.

Polish citizens should bring a valid identity document, i.e., an identity card or passport. Copies of birth certificates are usually obtained by the office itself from the civil registry, so there is no need to provide them. However, foreign nationals must submit an identity document, a copy of their birth certificate, a certificate of legal capacity to marry (or a court ruling if obtaining a certificate is impossible), and sworn translations of documents.

The ceremony requires the presence of two adult witnesses. They can be persons of any nationality, the only requirement is that they have reached the age of majority.

The treasury fee for drawing up a marriage certificate is 84 zł. If the couple decides on an outdoor wedding or a ceremony outside the seat of the office in Ruda-Huta, an additional fee of 1000 zł should be expected. Choosing a location outside the standard hall also requires ensuring safety and dignified conditions for ceremony participants.

After the ceremony is completed, the spouses receive a marriage certificate. The first short copy is issued free of charge.
