To have a civil wedding in Pokój, you must first go to the Civil Registry Office in Pokój and file a declaration of no impediments to marriage. After filing this declaration, there is a statutory waiting period of at least 1 month. During this period, the office verifies the absence of legal obstacles to marriage.

Each party must have a valid identity document, i.e. a national ID card or passport. Polish citizens usually do not need to provide copies of birth certificates, as the Civil Registry Office in Pokój obtains them directly from the civil registry.
