A civil wedding in Minsk Mazowiecki begins with filing a declaration of no impediments to marriage at the Civil Registry Office. After this formality, a statutory waiting period of a minimum of one month applies. This period allows the parties to make a final decision and enables the office to verify that there are no impediments to marriage.

Documents required from a Polish citizen include a valid ID card or passport. Copies of birth certificates do not need to be provided, as the Office obtains them directly from the civil registry. The situation is more complex for a foreigner, who must submit:

• identity document,
• copy of birth certificate,
• certificate of legal capacity to marry (or court order if obtaining a certificate is impossible),
• sworn translations of documents.

The court fee for drawing up a marriage certificate is 84 zloty. The certificate is issued directly after the ceremony, and the first short copy is free of charge.

The ceremony requires the attendance of two adult witnesses. These can be persons of any nationality. The wedding can take place at the Civil Registry Office in Minsk Mazowiecki or at another location, according to the couple's preferences. An outdoor ceremony or one held outside the office premises is subject to an additional fee of 1000 zloty and requires ensuring safety and dignified conditions for conducting the ceremony.
