A civil marriage in Miasteczko Krajeńskie begins with contact with the local Civil Registry Office to establish an available date. Before the ceremony, each party must submit a declaration of no impediments to marriage. From that moment, a statutory waiting period of at least one month applies.

Documents required from Polish citizens are a valid identity card or passport. The Office obtains copies of birth certificates directly from the civil registry, so there is no need to provide them. Citizens of foreign countries must prepare an identity document, a copy of the birth certificate, a certificate of legal capacity to enter into marriage (or a court order if obtaining a certificate is impossible), and certified translations of these documents.

The ceremony can take place at the headquarters of the Civil Registry Office in Miasteczko Krajeńskie or at a location outside the office chosen by the couple, if possible.
