To have a civil wedding in Leszno, you must first submit a declaration of no impediments to marriage at the Civil Registry Office. This statement must be submitted by both future spouses. After its acceptance, a statutory waiting period of at least one month begins.

During this period, we prepare for the ceremony. Each of the engaged couple must provide the required documents. Polish citizens submit a valid identity card or passport. Copies of birth certificates are usually not necessary, as the Civil Registry Office in Leszno obtains them directly from the civil registry.

Foreigners must prepare more documentation: an identity document, a copy of the birth certificate, a certificate of legal capacity to enter into marriage issued by the appropriate authorities of the country of origin, and sworn translations of all foreign language documents.

Two witnesses are required for the ceremony. They must be adults, regardless of their nationality. They can be both Polish citizens and foreigners.

A civil wedding in Leszno held at the Civil Registry Office is subject to a treasury fee of 84 zloty. It is also possible to enter into marriage outdoors or in another place outside the office premises, which involves an additional fee of 1000 zloty and the requirement to ensure safety and dignified conditions for the ceremony.

After the marriage is entered into, a marriage certificate is issued. The first short copy of this certificate is free of charge.
