Wedding slots in Legnicy

To have a civil marriage in Legnica, you must first arrange a meeting at the Civil Status Office and reserve the date of the ceremony. The prospective spouses should submit a declaration of no impediments to marriage, after which a statutory waiting period of a minimum of one month applies.

Each of the future spouses must possess a valid identity document. Polish citizens may present an ID card or passport. The Civil Status Office in Legnica obtains copies of birth certificates directly from the civil status register, so the prospective spouses usually do not need to provide them.

Two adult witnesses of any nationality are required for the ceremony. These can be people close to the couples or persons designated by the prospective spouses.

The court fee for drawing up the marriage certificate is 84 zloty. After the marriage is concluded, the first short copy of the certificate is issued free of charge.

Legnica offers the possibility of having a wedding outside the office premises, at a location chosen by the couple. Such a ceremony involves an additional fee of 1000 zloty and the requirement to ensure safety and dignified conditions for the ceremony.

Foreign citizens wishing to marry in Legnica must provide an identity document, a copy of the birth certificate, a certificate of legal capacity to enter into marriage issued by the appropriate authorities of their country, and certified translations of all foreign language documents. If obtaining a certificate is impossible, a court order is necessary.
