A civil marriage in Konopnica begins with filing a declaration of no impediments to marriage at the Civil Registry Office. The office accepts applications from both engaged parties, who must be present in person. After submitting the documents, a statutory waiting period of at least one month begins.

Required documents for a Polish citizen are a valid ID card or passport. Copies of birth certificates are obtained by the Civil Registry Office in Konopnica independently from the civil registry, so there is no need to provide them. The situation is different for foreigners, who in addition to an identity document must submit a copy of their birth certificate, a certificate of legal capacity to marry issued by the appropriate authorities of their country, and sworn translations of all foreign language documents.

The marriage ceremony can take place at the headquarters of the Civil Registry Office in Konopnica. There is also the option of concluding the marriage outside the office building, in a location chosen by the engaged couple. The tax fee for drawing up the marriage certificate is 84 zł. After the ceremony, the engaged couple receives the marriage certificate. The first shortened copy of this certificate is issued free of charge.
