A civil marriage in Kargowa begins with submitting an application at the Civil Registry Office. Before the ceremony, you must provide documents confirming your identity and the absence of impediments to marriage. Polish citizens can use a valid ID card or passport.

After submitting the declaration of no impediments, a statutory waiting period of at least 1 month applies. During this period, the Civil Registry Office in Kargowa conducts the necessary checks. After the waiting period expires, it is possible to set the date of the ceremony.

The court fee for drawing up the marriage certificate is 84 zł. This amount covers the issuance of documentation related to the conclusion of marriage. The first short copy of the marriage certificate is issued free of charge immediately after the ceremony.

A civil marriage must take place in the presence of 2 adult witnesses. Persons acting as witnesses may be Polish citizens or foreigners without restrictions.

As for the place of the ceremony, traditionally the marriage takes place at the headquarters of the Civil Registry Office in Kargowa. It is also possible to conclude marriage outdoors or outside the office, however, this is associated with an additional fee of 1000 zł and the requirement to ensure safety and dignified conditions for the ceremony.

If it is impossible to obtain a certificate, a court order is permitted.
