The procedure for entering into marriage in Grudziądz begins with submitting a declaration of no impediments to marriage. The document can be submitted in person at the Civil Registry Office in Grudziądz or sent by mail. After the declaration is accepted, a statutory waiting period of at least one month begins.

The engaged couple and witnesses must appear on the scheduled date. Witnesses can be any two adults, regardless of their nationality. The ceremony takes place at the office headquarters, unless the couple decides on an outdoor wedding.

Required documents for Polish citizens are a valid identity card or passport. Copies of birth certificates are obtained by the Civil Registry Office in Grudziądz directly from the civil registry, so there is no need to provide them. The situation is more complicated for foreigners.
