A civil marriage in Gorlice begins with contacting the Civil Status Office to reserve a ceremony date. The engaged couple must jointly submit a declaration of no impediments to marriage, which the office accepts at the office premises.

After submitting the declaration, a statutory waiting period of at least 1 month applies. During this period, the office carries out necessary administrative procedures and prepares for the ceremony.

Required documents for a Polish citizen are a valid ID card or passport. Copies of birth certificates are obtained by the office independently from the civil status register. If one of the parties is a foreigner, additional documents are required: identity document, copy of birth certificate, certificate of legal capacity to marry, and certified translations.
