Wedding slots in Gdyni

To have a civil marriage in Gdynia, you must first book an appointment at the Civil Registry Office. The ceremony reservation should be made with appropriate notice to ensure your preferred date.

A key requirement is submitting a declaration of no impediments to marriage. From the moment this document is submitted, a statutory waiting period of minimum one month applies. This period allows for data verification and checking whether either party has any legal impediments to marriage.

Polish citizens should bring a valid identity card or passport. Birth certificate copies usually do not need to be provided, as the Civil Registry Office in Gdynia obtains them directly from the civil registry.

Foreign nationals must prepare:

• an identity document,
• a copy of the birth certificate,
• a certificate of legal capacity to marry issued by the appropriate authorities of their country,
• sworn translations of all foreign language documents.

The marriage ceremony requires the presence of 2 adult witnesses, who may be citizens of any country. There are no restrictions regarding their origin or nationality.

The treasury fee for preparing a marriage certificate is 84 zł. If you decide on an outdoor wedding outside the Civil Registry Office premises, an additional fee of 1000 zł must be paid. Choosing a location outside the office also involves the requirement to ensure safety and dignified conditions for the ceremony.

After the ceremony, you will receive a marriage certificate. The first short copy of the certificate is issued free of charge.
