Wedding slots in Chełmnie

To have a civil wedding in Chełmno, you must first submit a declaration of no impediment to marriage at the Civil Status Office. This document is the starting point of the entire procedure and must be submitted personally by both fiancés.

After submitting the declaration, a statutory waiting period of minimum 1 month applies. During this time, the office verifies the data and checks whether there are any legal obstacles to marriage. After this period expires, it is possible to schedule the ceremony.

Polish citizens should prepare a valid identity card or passport. Certified copies of birth certificates are usually not required, as the Civil Status Office obtains them directly from the civil status register. Foreign nationals must additionally provide an identity document, a certified copy of their birth certificate, a certificate of legal capacity to marry, and sworn translations of their documents.

The wedding must be witnessed by two adult witnesses. They can be persons of any nationality, but must be legally capable.

The treasury fee for drawing up the marriage certificate is 84 zł. After the ceremony, you receive the marriage certificate, and the first certified short copy is issued free of charge.

In Chełmno, an outdoor wedding is also possible, i.e., outside the office premises. This requires payment of an additional fee of 1000 zł and ensuring safety and dignified conditions for the ceremony by the parties.
